Macromoleucles!!!
You may be asking yourself, "what are macromolecules?" Well, simply stated, they are large moleucles! The Monomers (smaller units) makes up polymer (larger units). It's amazing that all the diversity of life comes from four main classes of macromolecules. For example, one protein molecule may consist of 1,000's of atoms that forms a mass of 100,000 daltons! Macromoleucles exhibit unique emergent properties out of the arrangement of atoms.
There are 4 types of Marcromolecules:
-
Proteins
-
Carbohydrate
-
Lipids
-
Nucleic Acids
Macromolecules are formed through dehydration synthesis, and are broken down by hydrolysis.
